My kids love to play monopoly and this is their favorite version - The Sixites - LOL Their favorite card to draw is when everyone has to get up and do the twist =) It has property cards like Lava Lamp, Woodstock, Tie Dye etc....all things 60's.

Here are my Saturday and Sunday pictures. Saturday our photo group had a big BBQ get together and the sky and and clouds were awesome. This was just right before sunset.

We don't celebrate Easter, we do Ostara, but the kids wanted to find eggs today. The princesses were pretty easy to find as they were bright metallic. LOL They stood out pretty good against the still brown grass =)

It was soooo beautiful out today - I just had to be a part of it! Since I swear my flowers are stunted from all that snow - I went a bought some for my garden, hoping my other flowers would see these and figure out what they are supposed to do. Hyacinth's are my favorite flower. I just can't get enough of the smell of the them :)

This picture just makes me sad for some reason....... :)
As you can see there is just a touch of snow still at the lake - it won't last as we are supposed to be 70 degree's tomorrow! Can you hear me shouting for joy?? LOL And then of course we drop 30 degree's with rain - but I'm not complaining - its better than the white stuff.

Day 95 - That will teach you!

So youngest DD has been bugging her dad to let her get her ears pierced. It didn't bother me when or if she had them done. But DH insisted that she be closer to 12 when she has it done. So after the princess pouty face and the batting of the eyelashes, he said fine, lets do it now. He honestly thought she would chicken out and not do it. Well, she showed him - she did it! And without flinching, no tears, nothing! She sat there and smiled....LOL I love that she called his bluff. :)

Our snow is gone and its supposed to be 63 today! Yeah!!! Now we will probably skip spring and go right into a hot summer phase... :-)

Oldest DD and I headed out really early yesterday morning to go take pictures. We were at one of our many many lakes and caught these shots. The top picture is just a post from a fence on the edge of the water. The second picture is also at the lake with the sun just starting to come up.

I had to go to our local Sons of Norway lodge today to take some photo's (I'm also a member there) and I thought this statue that we have in our lobby would make a great pic for today. It's about 8 feet tall and weighs probably a ton. Our lodge is named after him. Peder Tordenskjold.

So with the kids in karate camp all week, and DH working - I have the house to myself. I seem to have less time to do anything than when I am running around all day picking up and dropping off kids!

*Sigh, I hate it when I get behind in posting.....* It was conference week this last week for the kids, so the Princess was in Kindergarten for only 90 minutes each day. Not much time to get to her to school, come home and do something productive, then go back to get her. Now we are on spring break so hopefully I can get stuff done.

Day 85 - just a macro of one of my plants. Loved how the sunlight was hitting it.

Day 86 - my Winter Daphne is just budding - and it smells sooooo good!

Day 87 - Time - which I never seem to have too much of anymore!

I love to go to one of our older cemeteries and just walk around and take pictures of the older headstones. My grandparents and great great grandparents are buried there - but I enjoy going to the older section. I think this one fell over after our last real heavy snowfall.

Day 81 - The Rivers Meet

Finally got outside to get some pictures today. This is the junction where two rivers meet. The brown is runoff called Latah Creek, and the blue is the Spokane River. I loved the contrast between the brown and the blue.

Day 80 - Twilight

Oldest DD and I went to a midnight release party at Borders for Twilight. We had a blast playing Vampire Baseball Trivia, A Scavenger Hunt, and meeting other crazies like us. There was about 250 people there...YIKES It was well worth it getting the Borders Exclusive DVD. It kinda sucks for those that didn't pre-order this version, they have to wait until the end of April for the next shipment......It was a very long day yesterday; getting up for the equinox, then the party and of course I had to come home and watch it and crawl into bed about 3 a.m., LOL

Days 77-79 - Yeah It's Spring!

HAPPY SPRING!!!!! Signs of Spring are finally all around us! This is my favorite season of the year. I have tons of buttercups in bloom (Day 77) and my tulips and hyacinth's are sprouting.

Princess Anna, my mom and I planted our herb garden yesterday (Day 78). Anna had to put her magick touch into the soil. This kid can make anything grow. :-)

My picture for today (Day 79) is SOOC - no trick photography. The kids and I got up at 4:30 this morning with our eggs. At exactly 4:44 pacific DST, we balanced our eggs during the Vernal Equinox. They love to do that. If you haven't done it - you need to try. At the exact time of the equinox, you can actually feel the pull on the egg. It stayed balanced for about 3 minutes - enough time to get all the pics taken.

Day 72 - Old Signage

My mom and I drove around the industrial area and I took a bunch of shots of the old old advertising that is on the side of buildings. I love the top advertisement - its for a hotel with steam heat at .50 cents a day. We figure the advertising dates to about the 19teens as the buildings are a touch older than that.

On my picture for yesterday, I was asked what the circles were in the background. I took the photo in my bathroom as I have awesome natural light in there. The circles are lights (yes Christmas lights) that I still have hanging in there...LOL The kids love them as they stay on all night and they can see. I just used a very shallow DOF to get that look.

Well its been an exciting (NOT) 3 days around here. I think I mentioned how my DS and I have been fighting this cold that just goes on and on and on.....well, come to find out not only do my son and I have this cold - we have the Peanut Salmonella!!!! YIKES! And what we had wasn't even on the recall list....but once this hit - I seriously thought I was going to die. They got DS on anti-biotics and he is much better now, for the adults - you just have to wait it through. I am better today, at least I am up and moving. I think this peanut company should pay for all medical and pain and suffering.....

Day 57 - Sphinx

I have always loved this Sphinx that sits at our Masonic Temple. She just mesmerizes me :)

Quite a few of you asked how I did the effects on the pictures (and today's) for the last couple of days. Its with a program called Photomatix. Its a HDR (High dynamic range). The program works best with bracketed photo's, meaning at least 3 different pics of the same image with different exposure settings. A tripod is a must for this. You can do some really gorgeous stuff with it and then you can also get pretty funky with it...LOL. It mainly just highlights your highlights and brings out your shadows. Its fun to play with. You can find it here and download the demo version.

Whew - I can't believe how far behind I am in posting. The days just go too fast. The whole fam has been sick, again. We all get well and it starts all over again. UGH. I did manage to steal some time to go take pictures.

Day 51 is out on my inlaws farm. I loved the very blue sky with the snow and treeline.

Day 52 is a pic of my DD and DH. Our local highschool sponsored a Father/Daughter dance and the two of them went.

Day 53 is just an old rod iron gate leaning against a brick wall. I love the contrast in textures and colors. :)

Day 54 we were driving through the downtown area and I just happened to notice the ornate architecture on a building.

This photo was a challenge in my camera club -I have my DS marbles in a glass, put a piece of glass over the top and drops of water. I had the shot until my DS turned on the chandelier - thus the light "flower" reflection in the water. I actually like how it turned out. Happy Accidents :)

They also brought along their new dog, Sammy, which they adopted from Golden Retriever Rescue. He is the sweetest dog - very gentle and loving. Now my cat had a few choice words to say about it - she is still in hiding. :-) Wonder if she will go do something naughty in my shoes......

135 shots on my camera to get this one. LOL Yes - this is milk. Keeping it white, I kinda lost the "splash" so the Princess got the food coloring and chose the color. I had tried earlier to get a "crown" effect, but it was a no go with a 6 year old helping as she was the one dropping the milk into the bowl. I love my little helpers. :)

Day 41 - The Guardians

I was driving around trying to find something interesting to take photo's of, when I came across Patsy Clarkes, a very old mansion. I've lived here all my life and never noticed the gargoyles before so I decided to shoot those for my pic for today. Rumors have it that the place is haunted which is very cool. When I uploaded all the pics and saw this one with the eerie light glowing and the gargoyles - I knew this was my shot. Post processing was to just black and white the pic.

Here is my day 39 & 40. Day 39 is last night's almost full moon.
For today - we had a brief break in the clouds as I was passing one of our old Gothic Cathedrals - and I just loved the blue against the cathedral's coloring. Later today, I'm going to go back and get some inside photo's of the place. It's really quite beautiful, the architecture alone.

Day 38 - Pink Gorilla

Advice: Never clean your child's bedroom with them present. DH and I started cleaning Princess Anna's bedroom at 10 this morning. 4 HUGE garbage sacks, 1 Goodwill sack, and 2 sacks of clothing for the cousin later, we just finished. Its now 4pm. She didn't like what we were tossing even tho it was broken beyond repair - I think for everything I put in she took out 3 things.
But she was so excited when we uncovered all her stuffies that she thought she lost. I knew they were there under every piece of clothing she owns. Her pink gorilla is one of her favorites, so that is my picture for today.

Days 35 & 36

Its been an interesting two days....My laptop was working fine with the new camera, then I had a pop up tell me "Uh, Tami.....I don't think so" and then it laughed at me......I hate computers with personality. :-) So my DH had to uninstall and reinstall new software and programs so it would recognize the camera.
Princess Anna came down with a 24 hour bug last night - she is better today but it sure was a long night.....

Day 35 is a Bells windchime that we have hanging outside. I think they have been there since the 30's or something - they are so rusty, but I enjoy the sound of them.

Day 36 is a stupid rubber spider that my DS loves to spook me with. Actually - he has more fun when the In-laws come over as my MIL is more scared of spiders than I am. So the hiding of the spider has become a family game/tradition.

Day 33 - I'm a Rock Star

So Marc and I go shopping yesterday and Princess Anna comes along. He tells me he wants to take her into this clothing store at the mall "Just to see if she likes it". I told him if he takes her in there he is going to spend money. He insisted he wouldn't. LOLOL, obviously he doesn't shop with a 6 year old clothes-a-holic too often. Now this clothing store caters to little girls - everything color coordinates, its pink and bright and frilly and could have been called Anna's Closet. She see this store and goes immediately into overload. She probably picked out 40 different outfits - but they ALL mixed and matched so who knows how many different outfits that makes. Then she spots this shirt with matching hat. Its short sleeved with arm socks. The shirt says "Music Makes Me Dance". OMG - I tell ya thats all it took.
She wouldn't let me take her pic standing up, but I like this one. So now I get to rub it into my husband about taking her clothes shopping - but he loved doing it.

Day 32 - Spikes

I am the 4th generation of my family to live in the house I'm in now. Back in the 19teens my greatgrandfather would catch the trolley right in front of the house. 2 years ago when the road was being rebuilt - I approached a worker and asked if he had come across any trolley spikes or track. At the time he hadn't. I told him about my Great Grandpa, and he kindly spread the word up and down the street that if they found spikes or track to please hold on to them. The road work went all summer long. Then about August I would open my front door and find a spike or two. This went on for days. These workers saved me every spike they found. When they were doing clean up down the street, they actually cut me a piece of track from a 50 foot section they had uncovered, and gave it to me on their last day. Thanks guys!!!

Miss Anna informed me that there is "nothing better than a soothing bubble bath". Hmmm, think she is listening to mom? LOL. So as we are filling her tub she dumps half the bubble bath in there and we have bubbles overflowing the tub onto the floor and out the door....the scene was a comic strip waiting to happen. :-)

I took my idog along with me yesterday for the lutefisk dinner. So todays picture was either the dog or lutefisk..LOL This toy makes me smile as it taps it's foot and bounces it head to the music. Not my best picture as I am anxiously awaiting purchasing a new camera. Woo Hoo!!!!

Princess Anna and I watched the inauguration yesterday. After Obama was sworn in - Anna informed me that Oback Omama was our new president. She is 6. LOLOL She just loves to watch him and listen. She has a few minor problems pronouncing that last name.....

Day 20 Up The Mountain

We headed up the mountain hoping for some heavy snow photo's. We have more snow in the valley's than up there..LOL I did manage to get a couple of good pics. The fog bank in background is covering the city where I live, so it was really nice to see the sun and the warmth! We couldn't believe how much warmer it was on the mountain....

We are headed up to the mountain today so I can get some pictures taken so I'm using a picture for today that I took last night. It's my son playing with his light saber - it changes color from red to green, have no clue where the white came from...LOL I love doing this type of effect.

Day 18 - Whats that blue stuff????

I'm really late in posting.....woke up this morning and peeked outside. There was this strange blue color in the sky! I just had to grab my camera and go be a part of it before it disappeared.
I had to wake hubby and ask him what it was. Where was the gray? The gloom? The fog? Then I started to shake because there was a big yellow orb of light to go along with the blue. What was happening????

I feel truly honored. We need to list 5 things we are addicted to.....only 5? Ok, here it goes...

1. Coffee - I drink way too much. I'm Norwegian, what can I say. We love our coffee. :D

2. Taking pictures. I always have a camera with me.

3. Chocolate. It goes with the coffee. The darker the better.

4. Reading. If I'm not taking pictures or scrapping, I have my nose in a book.

5. Irritating my children. Isn't that was mom's are supposed to do?? It could also be from the caffeine from all the coffee.

Now to pass on the award.....once again we are to pick 5. I agree with Chris that 5 is such a low number. Look at all that talent out there! Its hard to pick just 5

Day 16 - Too Much Fun In The 60's?

We have family game night once a week. My DS got these "carnival glasses" and each player had to wear them. When Spencer had his turn - we all laughed until we peed our pants. It was easy for him to keep a straight face, but when you looked at him - how could you not crack up? LOL
Thanks for the laughs at your expense Pa! (those eyes are painted on the glasses..hehehehe)

Day 15 Grandmommy's Crystal

As I was puttering around the house looking for something to photograph for today, the light caught on my china cabinet and illuminated my Grandmothers Crystal. She received this on her wedding day from her father in 1935. I'm very fortunate to have these as I just love them. Post processing is a variety of Totally Rad Actions.

Day 14 Twisted

I spoke too soon about my darling kids. I get my DS off to school and go in to make his bed, what do I find under his pillow? Pretzels. Well actually, they weren't just under the pillow - he had them down at the foot of the bed too. When he snuck in a bag of pretzels I have no clue. I am surprised they weren't stuck to him when he got up. Or maybe they were and he just put them back into his bed. Ya never can tell with an 8 yo boy.

Day 13 - Hey, there's a fog bank out there....

Things have been pretty quiet around my house. Kids are back into a routine with school, karate classes, and homework. They are so tired at night they don't have time to play tricks on mom. LOL. So a little something different from me for today. I couldn't resist stepping out to capture a picture of the fog. Those are some of my favorite photo's to take. This was taken with a 30 second shutter speed - the red streaks are a semi-truck that went by.

This is our big girl Freija, whom we lovingly call Jabba The Hutt. The back of our sofa is very soft and she always ends up sitting like this. She is about 24 pounds of pure attitude.

I keep telling myself how much I love my daughter. It was cleaning bedrooms day, and little Miss finds her Wicked Witch. I'm off doing something when she yells "Mommy, I found you!" I look up and she is holding this doll. "So you think this doll is Mommy?" "She looks just like you mom". Oh how I love my baby girl. LOL

Day 10 - A Real Life Mystery

Local authorities are baffled by the disappearance of a Mr. Snowball T. Snowman. His black silk hat and his carrot nose are the only clues. No footprints leading to or away could be located. When the family was questioned their only response was that "Snowball was always a little flakey". "We talked to him the previous day, but he just gave us the cold shoulder".
Authorities do not suspect any foul play, but believe Snowball to have melted away.

Day 9 - The Serenade

No crayons in coffee cups, no missing cookies or spilled bean this morning. Instead I was serenaded by my 6yo DD and her baby, "Pinky Lee". Miss Anna got these cheesy American Idol head phone's from McDonalds yesterday. She sang and danced all night long, slept in her headphones, and started this morning bright and early. It was just precious. I have no clue what song she was performing, apparently Pinky Lee knew the words though, and off they went through the house. She refused to allow me to take her picture. I think she was too busy signing autographs, but Pinky was willing. Her next performance is tonight at 7:00 pm.

Day 8 - The Crayons

I live with a house of comics. I grind my coffee beans, make the coffee, and as I am patiently waiting for that first cuppa - what do I find in my coffee cup? Crayons! About a dozen of them. Little do my gremlins....uhhhhh.....kids know, they are giving me awesome photo opportunities! I think I am really liking the macro shots. I really don't have a choice right now as my other lens went to Nikon heaven in the sky.

Kids are out of school once again today. Not for snow, but because of urban flooding. It has rained so much the last two days. But where all that snow was compact on the roads, its just an ice-skating rink out there now. Can't wait to see what the kids leave for me for tomorrow. LOL

Day 6 Miss Anna

Yeah - school was back in today...WooHoo! The roads were bad, sidewalks un-shoveled and snow burms so high you couldn't see any kids walking....so it was dangerous going this morning. Its now raining and we are supposed to get something like 2 inches. Put that on top of all this snow and I am dreading tonight when it all freezes.

Anyways - Miss Anna was so excited for school to be back in. Probably because Mama chases her with the camera. So in a very snooty voice, but oh so sweet at the same time, she informed me that I could take her picture today. So here she is. A very precocious 6 year old going on 22. Miss Anna.

Day 5 Indiana

I thought I was going to have a quiet day today, what with school back in after Winter Break, but the fates were not with me. We had another snow storm move in and they closed school for the day. I had my house back in order and cleaned -but now there are toys everywhere. DS was playing with his Lego's and I had to have a picture of Indiana. If you have never seen these, they are about 1 inch tall. My vacuum just loves those...LOL

The delicious cookies from yesterday have mysteriously all disappeared. I think my kids sleepwalk and sniff out the cookies.

Day 4 - The Stowaway

So the kids and I start the day with making chocolate chip cookies and what do I find in the bag, but an M&M...LOL Now granted the bag was opened earlier by the kids, so I am sure one of the kids stuck it in there. As I am laughing in hysterics and walking away to get the camera, my 6yo DD tells me I need to save it and grabs me a wine glass. Behold - a photo is born.

Day 3

Here is my picture for day 3, snow and icicles..LOL

I have decided to do what most are doing for this challenge and that is to take a photo a day and then scrap them at the end of the week. With 2 little ones its tough to sit and scrap daily.

Settings for the picture are as follows: F5, 1/400s, ISO 200, 50 mm.

Thank you to the girls (and guys) at DST and at CK for their idea's of what to photograph for the 365 challenge. Here are just a couple of their awesome ideas:

First couple of days
