Day 57 - Sphinx

I have always loved this Sphinx that sits at our Masonic Temple. She just mesmerizes me :)

Quite a few of you asked how I did the effects on the pictures (and today's) for the last couple of days. Its with a program called Photomatix. Its a HDR (High dynamic range). The program works best with bracketed photo's, meaning at least 3 different pics of the same image with different exposure settings. A tripod is a must for this. You can do some really gorgeous stuff with it and then you can also get pretty funky with it...LOL. It mainly just highlights your highlights and brings out your shadows. Its fun to play with. Great picture! Cool that you use the HDR, I've only read about that. Read somewhere else that if you take photos in raw, you can use the same picture and save with different exposures. Could be good if you take photos of something that can't stay still for three different shots. :)
